Some reading suggestions
What is happening in the market? How quickly do we forget the economic realities and how often do we believe the nonsense of the forecasters who only yesterday rationalized differently?
Having been a little bit disturbed by the recent market trends, namely, the quick reversion to 14000+ in the Dow, I’ve come upon a couple of books which are unfortunately good guides to the mania of crowds, futurists, pundits and investors in good times.
I recommend you read:
Roger Lowenstein’s The Origins of the Crash (re: the latest bubble)
and
John Kenneth Galbraith’s The Great Crash 1929.
(oh, and don’t forget Taleb’s Fooled by Radomness, which would put me in my place for thinking I see a trend…)
